Well, I'm in California, in my new house, and I figured I should post about it.
Driving from Georgia with my Dad wasn't that bad. It was boring and all, but overall not horrible. We spent all the first night driving and made it to Nebraska by the next night, when we finally got a hotel. The scenery and trip were absolutely mind numbingly boring from about Tennessee all the way to Nevada, where things got looking all deserty and kinda cool. I got to gamble in Reno, which was fun, but overall only a mediocre way to waste 40 bucks. I only got busted once, by this girl who was serving drinks. She asked for my ID, and I was all, "uhh, I left it in the car," then left real quick. Then after waiting all day to meet some guy, we finally left for California at 3 am monday morning. When we made it into the Sierra Nevadas things started looking beautiful, and I started to realize just how much I had missed California. The forests in the mountains were amazing, and then we came down through all the rich countryside, and then into our town of Clayton, which was also pretty. We hung out in the hotel for two nights, and then on wednesday, the movers came to our house and spent all day jamming stuff into our house. Then we spent time unpacking and finally hooked up the internet last night. So today I took some pictures of our house:
This is my house. It's smaller than all the houses in Ga, but it's also 900k.
This view kinda makes up for it though. That is Mt. Diablo, the state park, like, right down the street.
Our backyard is pretty too. They don't call California the Golden state just for the gold inside the hills. Also, if you can see, right in our backyard is a greenbelt that belongs to the neighborhood or something, and on it is the trails that head straight up the mountain.
Oh, and our backyard also has a pool with a diving board. Very cool.
I like this view of Mt. Diablo. It's really huge. The trail to the top is 4 miles from our house, and like 2000 feet up. I am looking forward to hiking it. Maybe soon.
This is my room (the rest of the house isn't really important). It's a bit bigger than my old one, which is good, because apparently soon I will be getting my grandfather's old double bed, which will take up a bunch of room in here.
I'm just posting this because it took me like 2 hours to put up all the crap that's on my desk, and I kinda like it now.
Anyway, I'm glad to be back in California, but I still really miss you guys. Maybe some time I'll get all of you out here. For now I'm just glad I can get Steen out here, and of course, I can't wait.
Btw, if any of you wanna google earth it, the address is 235 Mountaire pky, Clayton, Ca. 94517
