[Fic] - The Hard Way - chapter 10 (Final) part 4

It was a few weeks later that the five boys were sitting casually in their café. Ryu and Hayato were happily occupying one complete side without any personal space between where the rest of the gang sat in front of them. The leader grinned, seizing Ryu’s slim waist and having the boy half sit on his leg. The younger teammate had tried disengaging himself but to no vain. He was not getting his way currently. So he had slid down the cushion to level his head with Hayato’s shoulder and rested it there. One hand remained interlinked with his lover’s just above his abdomen while the other one reached for his beverage on the table.
Take who was sipping his own drink pulled Ryu’s away from him just to be annoying. Ryu was now forced to move forward in order get his glass which would make Hayato to grunt silently at the loss of contact and sent a death glare at Take. So instead the dark haired boy grabbed and lent Ryu his own beverage. The light brunette sipped it a few times but decided that he didn’t like Hayato’s drink.
Hayato raised an eyebrow at that and holding the younger boy in place he leaned to take Ryu’s drink from the other side of the table, crushing his whiny lover between himself and the table at the same time. A few whipping voices and giggles rose from the table as Ryu ignored them as to not offend his boyfriend and drunk his milkshake. Boyfriend, lover, Hayato; he liked those words, especially when they were in the same sentence.
“What are you planning for the college?” Hyuuga asked Ryu “Now that we are going to graduate, you will be going to a college right?”
“Yeah” Ryu answered with a knot in his throat “Maybe I’ll just go with that wicked woman’s job. Don’t know yet.”
“Not her again!” Hayato groaned acting oblivious to the hurt in his heart. “Don’t wanna see her!”
“We own her a lot” said Take grateful “She got Kudo’s group to dispatch and put him in jail for some good time. Then helped us with our statements where no one else believed us. We almost got expelled because of the fights. If it wasn’t for her and the doctor, we would have been chucked out for sure.”
“True” agreed Tuscchi “She is one hell of a creepy monster but she did help us out. Though seriously what the hell is up with her nickname? It’s ridiculous!”
“I gave her that name, you know” joined in a dark voice behind them, unhappy to hear such comment. Hayato made a face at the intruder which caused a twitch of the eye in return.
“Ah, Sawada-Sensei” chirped in Take. The doctor took his place in the table after he ordered a double espresso for himself.
“Do you have a night shift?” asked Hyuuga assuming the doctor needed energy to boost him up all night.
“No” he answered and continued in a rather long explanation, most likely caused by the effect of being a doctor -a job which needs patience and ability to make long speeches- “My hyperactive wife wishes to have dinner with you tonight. As you are going to graduate high school, she wants to celebrate which means a sake-all-night for us and lectures about everything and nothing for you. So I am required to remain sober to look after you.”
“Thanks for the offer but really she barely knows us” said Take.
“Yes, but she knows you enough. So just don’t complain and join us.” He sent a knowing look at Hayato, the leader who returned the look. A second passed and the leader had already judged and concluded the matter. He nodded -knowing that woman, she would probably just drag them there herself. No need in refusing- “Fine, I’ll go. Free food, isn’t it?”
The rest agreed and they spend a nice night in the surprisingly scary house -really they shouldn’t have been surprised- It was later in their graduation day that they would get to see the doctor and the overly enthusiastic woman of a teacher. What they were doing in a different school’s graduation no one knew but perhaps she had embraced the team as her own students?
Ren and Yamato joined their after ceremony hang out which got even more crowded with the addition of their own friends. It was now refreshing for Ryu to observe the sneaky touches and long loving gazes shared by Ren and Ogata. The only remaining longing he felt was always for Hayato. Always and only him, just the realization of that had made him happy. It also gave him an over joy as he knew for sure that Hayato felt the same. It was obvious; from the glances, tenderness and constant care he was receiving.
They had come a great deal in a mere few weeks and he was very pleased with their current progress. If you didn’t count in Hayato’s sudden urges and unsurpassable needs that is which were mostly in line with that of Ryu’s. Ryu smirked knowing that the reason was always himself for Hayato and his undying lust- wait and love.
Of course they would be required to get separated after violent arguments for Ryu’s education or Hayato’s work but in a couple of years they would get back together continuing from where they had left off as if nothing changed.
Then there would be fights over and between families; Senior Odagiri acting like an over protective father making Ryu feel like a girl -that would make Hayato point out and sometimes even dare to laugh at but soon will be forgotten as Ryu would be attacking him on bed- Despite his tries in denial, Senior Odagiri would have to come to terms with the facts after witnessing a bedroom scene, he wishes he hadn’t seen even years later.
At some point they will encounter Ren and Yamato’s brawls; each youngster seeking advice from them separately. The couple will handle it with the delicacy of an ox which will cause more problems on Hayato’s side and eventually ending up with Ryu trying to patch things up. He will succeed mostly and the rest will be resolved by Ren and Yamato and/or their friends even without the need of the couple.
In a not so distant future, Hayato and Ryu will be lying on their own bed, conversing about important matters. Their discussion will include multiple options to choose from; whether to adopt a pet or buy more console games or move into an apartment closer to Ryu’s current school.
And in the end they will be together in their warm home, with their problems and resolves, friends and families, arguments and doubts, making ups and making outs, unwavering trust and lots of love.

Well, here is the extremely late instalment to my fanfic. I bet you thought I had finished it with Ren lying in hospital and everything else in complete chaos or simply I had just given up on it. I hadn’t, it was more like my inspiration had let me down for a really long time. My sincerest apologises for it. I had every intention to finish it up but just couldn’t write and by the time I did it was already 6 months late. Yeah it’s been that long assuming anyone still remembers it, that is.
Yes, again sorry about that, I have been away from LJ, generally. But I have written a 10,000 worded final chapter to make up for it. It took four posts and I hope you enjoyed it.
I must ask; did you like the sudden addition of our 1st Gokusen boys? And guess the name of the mysterious lady. =)) Couldn’t help myself but to add them all in. It seemed appropriate for a final.
