...because, really, why not?? :D
Besides, I actually have *counts on fingers* 25 chapters of Oasis ready to post. I've put them on the site (locked because I'm still making them look pretty) and I'll start unlocking them either tomorrow or Saturday morning. Whoohoo!! I'm glad this section is done; of course, I changed so much since I first wrote all the letters that now there are major rewrites needed to what immediately follows - 'cause what I originally drafted no longer makes sense. :)
Love it!!
I'm also sharing the logline for the script I'll be writing starting April 1st *chews nails nervously*. I'll be glad to start because I've been getting random snippets of dialogue in my head - which I can't write down because it's against the rules - and now I'm not sure if I'll ever remember them. :( Oh, well.
So, here's the logline:
While combating alien invaders, a small group of resistance fighters discover humanity's secret weapon - its ghosts.
Hee. On ScriptFrenzy.org, I said it's like The X-files meets Independence Day. But not exactly.... LOL
Finally, here's the blurb I wrote which would go on the back if I were to ever publish my NaNo novel (which is called Best Before Date). NaNoEdMo has been a huge bust (sadly) so the novel isn't anywhere near completion but I wanted to try to write the blurb because...well, because I'd never tried to write one before, so why not? LOL
It's still not perfect, but I like it enough to share it. :)
"If I'd only known being a trophy wife was a valid career choice.”
Thus begins the story of Tilly - an over-40, over-worked, over-stressed government employee trying to come to terms with her life and her choices.
"Meanwhile, here I am, past my best before date, drowning in debt, working all hours and wondering where I am and how the hell I got here!”
Irreverent, profane, pessimistic, cynical and at times profoundly sad, Tilly stands in her mid-life wondering if there's life after 40...especially when there wasn't much of one before 40.
Then Tilly's very calm, very routine, very boring world gets turned upside down. What follows is a dizzying year of good choices, bad choices and no choices at all, of taking risks, breaking hearts and learning how to - finally - let go.
Hey - it was fun to try and figure out what the blurb on the back should be - well, other than "they swear a lot and constantly talk about sex or the lack thereof" - LOL.
I'm wiped; I'm heading for the sack - I still have to do some writing tonight (at least a word or two) and it's already 9:30 p.m. :(
