Random Update...

In which my obsessive fangirl tendencies** are on rather obvious display...

** I'm harmless.  Maybe a little scary but harmless.  Really.  Trust me.

Okay, here's the story... long and rambling story (sorry!)

I was starting to think about getting ready for ScriptFrenzy in April.  Since I've never written a script before I started to get a little worried about how to approach the challenge.  I also have the added disadvantage of not really being somebody who thinks in terms of  translating words to a screen.  So, this is REALLY going to be a challenge.

I had the outline of an idea (Aliens!  Ghosts!  Romance!) but that was really it.   Anyway, I knew there was a female main character who plays THE pivotal role, and (of course) a love interest (I was intending to do this story for NaNo in November, but I figured it would make a great topic for ScriptFrenzy instead.)  And that was it.

I went to the site (www.Scriptfrenzy.org) and (from what I can find) you can plan the script as much as you want; create character bibles, etc. - you just can't actually start writing dialogue or the script itself (which I'm taking to include all the "stage" directions, etc.).  This is awesome, I thought - I'll work out the plotline and the characters and I may be able to do this.  Only how to do it without actually beginning to write the thing???  Then I remembered something that seren_ccd  had done a while back about coming up with a TV show (plot, characters and actors) and it kicked ass so hard and that inspired me (thanks, seren!) to say "this is all a fantasy anyway - pretend you can get ANYBODY YOU WANT in this movie.  Who would you get?   What role would you give them?"

I let that idea simmer for awhile since I really only had two characters in my head and (surprise!) I chose Esai Morales and Sprague Grayden for those roles.  Then, after watching Bones one night, I said "David Boreanaz.  Esai's brother."  That was where it sat until this weekend when I watched a bit of The American President (ooooh Aaron Sorkin - I still love you with the heat of a thousand novas...), remembering how much I adore Martin Sheen - and a switch got flipped ("Esai and David's father!").  I've been plotting/character developing/thought jotting/picture searching/name dropping pretty much non-stop since (I think) Sunday (with a few hours here and there devoted to the next set of letters for Oasis.)

Even if I fail miserably at writing a script, I am soooooo writing this novel.  Oh, yeah...

Anyway, without further ado -  the main cast of my Still-to-be-Named movie (coming soon to a theatre near you):

(apologies for the size of the picture; this was my first time trying to do something like this.)

Alan Rickman, Martin Sheen, Lennie James, Sprague Grayden, Esai Morales, David Boreanaz and Skeet Ulrich.

Supporting cast (so far - and no pictures yet):  Morgan Freeman, George Clooney, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Justin Long.

Well, I did say it was a fantasy, right??  :D

So, why am I sharing this with you?  Besides the fact that I'm just stoked about it - I need suggestions of actors/actresses.  Doesn't matter if I don't know them, the supporting roles are being "cast" based on a feeling I get when I look at the actor.  At this point, I don't have any "uncast" roles but I'm still plotting and once I start writing, well...you never know what's going to bubble out of my head.  :)  So, any suggestions are gratefully put into a pool of actors that I'll pull from when/if I have a need.  (I have Sandra Bullock and Anne Hathaway in there right now - I love them but can't think of anyplace for them to fit right now).  Oh, and if you can suggest people with amazing speaking voices (sexy, unusual, male, female - doesn't really matter) that would be awesome too!  :D  I would use Alan Rickman but he already has a role...

Anyway, that's my latest project.  I think I may be giving NaNoEdMo a miss...unless I get to the point where I'm ready to write the script before March 1st - which is a real possibility...  *sighs*

As for Oasis, there are about 34 letters in the next "batch" - I'm finishing the second edit (I have ten letters to go) and then I'll be starting the third edit (which is usually when I think they're ready to post).  I'll try not to post all 34 at once ;) but you may get a flurry of posts within a few days of each other.

Sorry for the long, rambling post.  I'm just really getting into this story for ScriptFrenzy; very exciting!  :D
