Playlist of the week #3

And english-post, today!

So you may find the playlist of the week HERE. Nothing special to tell, except that I might put this LJ on hiatus soon, it depends on how things go for me but for now, let's concentrate on music!

1. You're not here - Melissa Williamson. As you can see, I'm in a Silent Hill addiction. That wonderful song comes from the third OST and I LOVE it, so much that I can't bear not to listen to it. I knew I was addicted to that song after the first 25 seconds. How about you?

2. Breeze - In Monochrome Night - Akira Yamaoka. Another Silent Hill 3 OST. Though the beginning might seem gloomy, I literally worship the piano part and would kill to find the sheet. I wish I could play it by ear but since my piano is rusty, I can't trust what I think, so I'm terribly frustrated, heh. I love the heavy yet hopeful ambiance, somehow it's indescribable and that's why I always love Yamaoka-san's work. I want that man for president (just don't ask why).

3. Take Me on the Floor - The Veronicas. A wonderfully addictive song as well. One listening was enough XD The lyrics are stuuuuuupid like whoa, but the music, rhythm... once it's in your head, it's too late. You're warned.

4. Twenty-One - The Cranberries. A classic I should say. Everyone must know that band. Dolores' voice is too beautiful not to be loved, and the lyrics, the music... I love the ambiance here as well, it has a fairy side, somehow magical. And it's calming. Helps me cool down when I feel like exploding.

5. Letter - From the Lost Days - Melissa Williamson. Yet another Silent Hill 3 OST. If you have seen the film, you may recognize it. And shake convulsively like I did when I listened to it XD There are two versions, the one in the film is... kinda cut, this one is the entire. I love the moment when the singer whispers and the drums, and the slight piano notes we can hear. Yamaoka really signed a masterpiece when he composed this OST, you totally should listen to the whole.

6. 24 - Jem. I couldn't not do it. THAT song is THE song. Well I say that for a lot of songs I love but this one... is special. I fell for the mix of violin and electric guitar, and Jem's voice is wonderful (she sung for Eragon's OST, though I did not see the film). And the lyrics, more importantly. So true, so heart-wrenching... I often listen to it.

7. Pardonne-Moi - Mylène Farmer. Last but not least, a FRENCH song, yayz! Though I'm not really into French music, Mylène has my admiration for she's a good singer and her texts are beautiful. I don't like all of her work but still, that one is amazing (among others I'll upload later on). I love the music, her voice, the ambiance, the lyrics are great... Sad but heart-wrenching as well.

And that's all for today! Good night, gens.
