saw vampire weekend tonight and had a wave of "yes, it is time to go...to brooklyn"
there are volleys and breezes of Singapore being great and amenities and such
but there is also loneliness and alienation
I am ready to Arrive. I am ready to be From. New York City baptises you in anonymity and authenticity. you endure. you survive. it is at all times a badge of pride.
this 'dilemma' or outsider feeling reminds me of my university time...first year, living in pom and "commuting" to mcafee and claflin all the time for social outlets. part of me loved being off the grid,
but then being in Claflin was such a relief
and then there was living in the basement v third floor
but senior year, BEST LOCATION.
except for the creepy crawlies, that was such an awesome room. view of lake. high ceilings. walk-in closet. best building. so many art posters.
{so basically, new york is the new claflin.}
