Title: A Good Girl
Day/Theme: February 7 - "Virtue is the fount whence honour springs"
Series: Ace Attorney
Character/Pairing: Pearl Fey
Rating: K (Spoilers for PW1/GS1 and PW2/GS2, if you know what to look for)
Pearl was a good girl. Everyone told her that―her mother, Mystic Maya, Mr. Nick, random people who complimented Mr. Nick on having such a well-behaved daughter (leaving him sputtering that he was only in his mid-twenties and not even married). She followed the rules of the village, practiced what her mother taught her, learnt from the mistakes of others, and took Mr. Nick’s advice when it was a good time to ‘run like hell’ (even though her mother taught her that it wasn’t polite to say ‘hell’).
It wasn’t just her raw spiritual power that made her the one her mother hoped would bring honour not only to her branch of the family but also restore the honour of the Fey name. Mystic Mia was supposedly as strong as Pearl when she was a little girl, and Mystic Maya was progressing quickly (when she could be forced to study). Pearl also did what she was told and didn’t get into trouble like her cousins did. She would be restore the family’s honour, and return the family name to the status it deserved, which had been so cruelly tarnished because of a spirit trying to protect a killer of a son. Everyone in the branch families knew Pearl was the hope of the family, even if the village elders refused to see it, refused to see past tradition.
Even though Pearl was a good girl.
