Not Fair!
I just want to rant for little bit about how unfair it is that I live in Australia. I see all of the beautiful patterns/knitting magazines/books/wool that everyone uses and so far I am having a whole lot of trouble trying to find them in Aus.
Particularly Nuro Kureyon (sp?) wool. It always looks so beautiful knitted up, but alas I have not been able to find it anywhere. I went into our LYS and asked them if they had it and they just looked at me with blank faces going huh?....what?
Also I was all exciting thinking I might buy Stitch & Bitch Nation, but no....not available here yet.
I was excited one day to find a copy of Vogue International Knitting )summer one I think) and thought finally our Newsagents will be carrying it so I'll be able to get them all now. But no.....they haven't had an issue since. Why oh Why must Australia be behind in everything.
Also we only have the one LYS and Lincraft and Spotlight, the LYS has some nice wool, but a little too pricey for me, and Spotlight and Lincraft don't have much selection.
It is getting to point where I think I'll have to subscribe to the few magazines I want and order everything else from overseas, I just hate waiting for it all to arrive.
Are there any other Aussie here who can recommend somewhere to buy yarn from?
On the up side I have finished my third top, I haven't posted any pics of them yet but will soon, I have to say that I love the Skully Jumper pattern from Sticth & Bitch, such a pleasure to knit. But now I have the problem of trying to decide what to knit next. Any idea's or suggestions. I need simple, but nice patterns.
Sorry for the rant, I just needed to get that out, and since my friends don't understand my knitting obsession they don't understand how frustrating it is not to be able to find decent yarn.
Strange but I automatically write yarn on LJ, when everyday in life I call it wool. Strange how LJ can affect you like that.
