Oblitory sick post, ya'll
So. I'm working again, both at the fish market and at BB. The last two weeks have been, well, hell on me -- it's an hour commute each way for BB, and my bike is a piece of shit that can't keep air in the tires no matter what, so fish market commute is a pain in the ass too.
Other suckage:
It sucks when you realize that $20 is only five day's worth of commute.
It sucks when most of your naps happen on the 40 minute bus ride to and from the train.
It sucks when the most sleep you get is only about six hours before waking up again.
It sucks when, as you're trying to get home at 1.30 in the morning a car pulls up, obviously curious on whether or not you're for hire.
It sucks when you're really really close to tears because everything is just too damn hard and even the idea of having to work in a few hours is too hard to think about.
It sucks when you're always hungry and you want to stuff your face full of everything and then drink some tea and fall asleep again.
It sucks when that's your schedule during the time you're not commuting or at work.
It sucks when you have to leave two hours before the shift starts at BB because the trains or buses might be late.
It sucks when you're so afraid that you have to hold onto your work knife because you're afraid that that crazy man next to you might start harassing you even though it's only 5.30 in the morning, on a Sunday morning nonetheless, with a lot of people around.
I've also been on the verge of becoming sick. Hopefully having Monday and Wednesday completely off should help get me back on track, and there's no crazy early shifts until next Sunday, so that's good. Supposed to hang out with Alex tomorrow after she's out of school; we'll probably go to the Water Tower Place or Navy Pier.
Also, Chicago. Make up your mind. Either keep it hot or keep it cold but keep it constant. You're not helping either.
I hate being sick. (Or sink, as I just tried to type.) And being tired sucks. My body is freezing but my cheeks are crazy hot.
