DSL is up and running... I'm back!

Guess it is time to make a little rl-update here, for all of you who are interested. -->;)

Nel and I finally moved to our new apartment, up 30 km North of my parent's place. The village is called "Moehringen" and lies in the Donau river valley. Also, I started work in my new company last monday.

With those two things done, the last two 'big steps' of this year are finally over. After finishing my education as landscaper, marriage with Nel, renovating and moving into a new home and start working in a new company, I feel very accomplished.

The renovation of the apartment consumed my whole summer. From the day I finished my exams up until today, I spent every hour possible to make these 130 square meter a place you can live in for the next 10 years.
Everything had to be replaced, the floor carpets, the 3-7 layers of wallpaper, the ceilings, even the the bathroom had to be redone from scratch. Every time we removed something, a new disaster occurred: ceilings that crush down, molt in the walls, unstable plaster, inadequate wires... ect. ect. ect.

We're almost done now. Most walls have a complete new plaster, the bathroom is retiled, most walls and ceilings are painted and the last floors are done soon. Next week, the new heating system will be installed, the kitchen and bathroom is functional again and the entrance door can be closed from inside. The smell of cigarette smoke is gone, replaced by the pleasant scent of a renovated apartment.

It was worth the two months of work. -->:)

My new company seems to be good. Our boss is fair and all of the others I ask about him say so, too. I'm still a bit unsteady, being a "new one", one of three "educated" landscapers from 12 people all in all. I don't know what they expect from me yet.
My focus was on plants, but now, I'm only doing "grey" gardener stuff, like paving garage entries or setting granite stairs. Therefore, I'm sometimes a bit planless, though I try to give my best and learn and hope that my boss will recognize that.

So far, he hasn't complained. -->;)

Funny side note: In the first two days, I drove more mini-digger then in my whole apprentice time. Isn't that great? You can play with a mini-digger and someone is willing to pay you for that, provided that you keep some minor rules in mind (like not crushing the neighbors garage... *g*)

Another new thing for me: I'm no longer dependent on a car, the 6 km to my workplace can be made by bike easily, along the Donau river. I'm one happy mare. -->:)

I should install the mirror in the bathroom now, but I'm so tired to work on that apartment that I'll have to live with brushing my teeth in the kitchen for some more time next week.

I will visit my parents in the afternoon, celebrating my mom's b-day with coffee and cake and maybe a bbq in the evening. After that, I'll invite Nel and Dais to our fav. Italian restaurant. Damn, I can't eat that much! 0.0

After weeks of hard work, this is the first weekend I can enjoy, even though we worked long yesterday. A new chapter of life has begun and I wonder how things will turn out in the next weeks and month.

There is still a lot to do.

From now on, there should be more time to answer mails and go online during the weekends. Due to the nature of my job, I'll have January and February off... completely... wheeeeeeeee!
Only thing I do is readiness in case it is snowing. Then I can practise to drive wheel loader, clearing snow and even get payed for that. Hope there is a radio in that wheel loader... -->;)

I'm looking forward to this time in winter. I should b able to continue with my roleplay world, play roleplaying games myself, draw, write...

Finally, some peace and order in my life, at least, for now.
