what puts the FUN in the fundamentals of science?
...taking a flask of boiling-hot agarose gel out of a microwave that's on top of a refrigerator. (I did it, but darn, is everyone in that lab taller than I am?)

BUT I did get my gel to a) run properly and b) I found that my XhoI digestions did, in fact, work. On to the next stage! (Baby steps, dear ones.)
Lunch was a little picnic, but it was raining sideways and in sheets, so we retired to the top of KBT and ate while looking out over the city. The fog obscured much of the view, but there was East Rock and the Lawn Club and the Peabody. Not too bad at all.
