How many times do I have to remind you that your ship is bad and you should feel bad? Didn't you watch the series properly?! Aang does not love or care about Katara. He's a selfish little boy who has to have his own way and only sees her as a shiny object, his prize for winning the day. The only reason Kataang is canon is because ( Read more... )

...I'm going to dissect every one of your stupid arguments, and you're going to listen as I put you in your place with logic and facts.

*He runs away and it's all his fault the Air Nomads die. He just wanted to play all day and didn't care what happened to his people.

He was scared. Put yourself in the shoes of a twelve-year-old boy whose parental figures tell him there's a war going on and it's up to YOU to stop it. Running away wasn't the smart thing to do, but Aang sincerely regrets it and pays for his actions when he discovers his beloved mentor's corpse.

*He purposely hides a letter from Hakoda from Katara and Sokka, because he selfishly wants them to stay by his side. If I were Sokka or Katara I'd have slapped him.

Again, put yourself in his shoes. You're a twelve-year-old boy, your people are gone, and the people you travel with have become like family to you. They're all you've got. You find a letter from their father, whom they've been wanting to reunite with, and you're afraid they'll leave you behind. Now to be fair, he could have easily told Sokka and Katara his fears, but they were so giddy at seeing Bato again that they kind of ignored him. Which doesn't make them the bad guys, but still, you can't blame Aang for feeling the way he did.

*Burning Katara's hands. And he claims to have true, genuine feelings for her?! Sokka basically says what we're all thinking, it's all Aang's fault. And earlier in the episode he ruined the Firebender's great trick by bursting onto stage with the pretense of saving his "true love".

Did you miss the part where Aang swore never to firebend again, and how he kept to that until the middle of season three? Katara even said it wasn't necessary, but he still did. As for the trick, of course he was going to freak out! He would've done the same if it were Sokka, or Appa or Momo!

*Breaking his Waterbending master's rules to teach Katara. Not only was he disrespectful to Pakku, he was using this as an excuse to force himself closer to Katara.

The whole purpose of going to the North Pole was so Katara could find a waterbending teacher as well. Aang was pissed off ON HER BEHALF because he respects her as a person and thinks she deserves to learn what she wants to. He took a risk for his friend.
