Daiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiisyyyyyyy~~~~!
So, I was rewatching Kubrick's "2001: A Space Odyssey", trying to make darn sense of it all without falling asleep. Little did I know as I reached the middle of the film, I have come to meet an epiphany.
So we know HAL 9000, the "evil computer" who kills off Frank Poole and the space crew, leaving only David Bowman to shut him down. Cue tragic death sequence for the compy.
HAL is misunderstood! You see, he was in love with David Bowman! When he saw Dave and Frank being friendly with another, he got jealous! (You can imagine his fury when he read their lips in the soundless room--they were flirting!) He did what every threatened boy/girlfriend would do, and dispatched of the jerk and anyone in the way of he and Dave's true love!
Only too late, did Dave realize computers have feelings too--HAL even sang a classic love song to him before he died!
IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW
*sniffle* If HAL, David, and Frank only agreed to a threesome, none of this would have happened.
