(no subject)
I had to crack up tonight while babysitting. The kids are my boss' sister's kids~an almost 4 year old, an almost 2 year old, and a 5 month old. YEAH. And the middle child, Sophia, is freaking hell on wheels. She knows how to undo the deadbolts on the doors, how to turn the stove on, how to operate the child-safety latches on the kitchen cabinets. She climbs on top of the kitchen table, and if you turn your back for more than a minute, she'll ransack your purse or grab any available electronics. Emily was stuck at home an entire day because Soph stole her car keys.
So tonight the baby was throwing a fit because he was suddenly OMG HUNGRY FEED ME NOW so I put Sophia and Bella in front of the TV and ran into the kitchen to mix up some cereal and grab Maxim's bottle. Took MAYBE three minutes because I warmed the bottle under the hot-water tap to just take the chill off. Came back into the living room to find my purse (which had been taken off the dining room sideboard) open, my wallet hanging out, and my Kindle GONE. And Sophie was in the playroom (next to the living room). It took me an hour to find it. Every time you scold Sophie/do a short time out, or take something away from her, she just laughs and finds more trouble to get into. She gets plenty of positive attention, so it isn't out of desperation or anything. I REALLY hope that my future kids don't have that kind of personality, because she drives me up the freaking wall.
When Emily came home, I told her and she was like, "I warned you, lol!" And then told me how she likes to live vicariously through my facebook because I frequently comment about things I'm cooking or reading or watching, and was all "omg, I'd love to have time to do those things!" to which, in my head, I can only respond "I have time to do those things because I don't have three kids under the age of 4!"
But I can't begrudge her for getting all the baby-having out of the way quick~she's really pretty, super tall and skinny. 2 months after having her youngest, she was back in leggings and pre-preggo clothes, she's a 6 foot tall size 6? MAYBE size 8.
