I never dreamed I'd end up loving this show so much -- I should have stuck with it from the first, but I remember just thinking "meh" when I first saw the pilot -- what a mistake that was! (Rather like my initial reactions to both Buffy and Babylon 5, both of which turned into all-time favorites...)

Same here. I tuned in for the pilot and a couple of eps and dismissed it as being very X-Files derivative. Then Jerry kept talking about it getting good last season and so I watched the old episodes this summer and really began watching this year.

They've been kicking ass this season. And poor Olivia has been through hell.

I fall so much more in love with this show every day. If it doesn't get another season, there is no justice.

I truly hope that the move to Fridays doesn't kill it. It's one of the more intriguing shows that are around at the moment.

Thanks so much for linking to this. Like other posters here, my first reaction to this show was "meh." But folks on my flist said to keep watching, that it would get better around ep. 6 or 7 of season one. And it did. You are so right this this season is kicking ass. The actress who plays Olivia, who seemed very stiff and awkward at first, has really grown into her character, and the other key characters are awesomesauce.

Yeah. When I watched the first episode, I totally dismissed this actress.

And after watching the beautiful way her heart broke when she made it back from the other side, I felt really bad for misjudging the actress. She was actually developing the character all along.
