Just saw this on the EW site.  I have to say, that's what I had thought all along.  I was surprised when I got online and saw people claiming it was some new, final 'twist.'

My thought was what a nice little hommage to where it started.

I saw that. I can't believe people actually thought it meant something! I was surprised too when I came online and saw people were speculating about it.

When I read that yesterday, my first thought was that this once again just shows how out of touch network executives are with the fans of their shows. They should have known that doing that was going to set people off in all kinds of crazy directions of speculation about what it meant. Nitwits.

I did see that cropping up in the commentaries, but I never saw it that way myself.

Helpful network execs are not helpful!

I would be a little miffed if I were the producers, but at least they sent out a correction.

I saw this story.

The images gave me a few moments of "Did they all die then?" but then as I decompressed myself, I realized more and more what Christian's words to Jack meant, and what the Sideways 'verse was. Then I figured the closing montage was just that -- a montage.

LOL! I remember people cooking up elaborate theories about that. People who weren't even WilliamThePoet (who could concoct elaborate theories about anything!)

If networks just had a better understanding about how fanwankily obsessive fans actually are! :)

Although it's funny because WtP used to obsess about WOO and that might actually be applicable to Lost since it was influential on Darlton.
