Fanfic is eternal
After Methos quoting it in Highlander, I’ve wondered about Aristotle’s Poetics. Found a copy of a Penguin Classics version in a used bookstore, with a scholarly Introduction longer than the actual Aristotle. So I’m at the point where he’s describing Tragic Plots, and he’s referring to the subjects of those plots: the well known stories of families like Oedipus, Orestes, Jason, Odysseus. He makes the argument that these known stories are the best source for plot in a tragedy rather than something original.
