The one problem with that theory is that the weird orb thing only appeared in that one picture.

I mean, it's probably not a supernatural phenomenon, but I don't really think it's a smudge either. Perhaps a light reflection?

Looks like some sort of dust + flash phenomenon.
But other than that, the bottom of the picture is really smudgy.
