Title: Let Go
Fandom: Econtra-verse Card Captor Sakura
Characters: Li Shaoran (Xiao Lang), Kinomoto Sakura (Ying Fa), Kinomoto Touya
Prompt: #11 never really mine
Summary: Post-Econtra. Touya tells Xiao Lang to stay away from his little sister, and the brat explains why he can't.
"Li."
Xiao Lang said nothing, but just stood there, glaring. He knew that look. He hadn't seen it in more than six years, but he knew damn well what it meant. And after he'd gone through hell and back just for her, there was no way he was going to let anyone take her away from him.
"It's what's best for her. You of all people should understand that," Touya told him, returning the glare just as fiercely. Stubborn little brat.
"It's not-" The Chinese boy was struggling with his words, and his emotions. "You can't-" He clamped his hands into fists at his sides. I love her, he wanted to say, wanted to scream, but he knew Touya wouldn't understand, and probably wouldn't even try to. That made him angry.
"She needs me," Xiao Lang said finally, and there was silence for a long time.
CRASH.
"Hoeeeeeeee!"
Both men looked towards the stairs, then raced up the second floor. Xiao Lang got to her room first.
"Ying Fa?" he called out worriedly, slamming the door open.
Still a klutz, it seemed. A bunch of her things now lay scattered on the floor, and if Kero had been around, he would've been flattened underneath them. "I-I'm okay!" she assured them as she hurriedly attempted to clean up the mess she'd made. She was reaching out for a heap of books when Xiao Lang laid his hand over hers.
"I got it," he said quietly, kneeling down beside her. Their eyes met, and she smiled.
Touya watched the scene in silence, then sighed. He'd known, for a long time, that someday he'd have to let her go.
It just wasn't as easy as everyone made it sound.
