Oh, Kahl, I've been clicking update all day waiting for this. This is excellent -- a really amazingly thorough sumamry, with great points, that really brings out how *barely* subtextual their realtionship is. Really nice job.

Woo! I've read and enjoyed many of your stories - when I first went looking over a year ago (maybe a year and a half), you were the best writer I found. My god, this film is *so damn slashy*. It's like certain Smallville episodes, it doesn't make sense unless Dom and Brian are madly in love. And I've always been a sucker for dysfunction and trust issues. And hot cars, oh my.

Happily, now I'm standing in a crowd of great writers. And you're absolutely right, tF&tF is like a really well-lit noir film...the characters' motivations just don't make sense unless it's love. And the cars!
