I'm exactly the same as you in that this is not my usual pairing. I see pairings when there is a great play between two characters - possibly because I myself find humour to be extremely attractive - so I ship pairings like Jack/Daniel (SG1), John/Rodney (SGA) and Arthur/Merlin because that kind of joking, affectionate relationship is what I see as ideal. Anway. There was a point to that ramble.

While Bryce and Chuck do have hints of this in their relationship, especially in the flashbacks, they get such a small amount of screentime and there is so much else overshadowing their relationship so you don't really get to see it. And yet, I ship them ridiculously hard anyway. Normally I probably would have shipped Chuck/Casey since the writers do give us a lot of fun moments between them. So why Chuck/Bryce? It could be because Chuck vs the Alma Mater and Chuck vs the Nemesis were two of the very first episodes I ever saw and I have a habit of attatching myself strongly to the very first pairing that tickles my fancy.

But I don't think it is. Everything you wrote about is so clear in the show that you can't help but wonder. There's such longing there, and a potential for so much more that it's almost impossible to not want to explore it further in fanfic. And of course the romantic in me wants a happy ending for them, which is possibly why I've latched onto the idea of Neal Caffrey/Chuck (the Ring brought Bryce back to life and brainwashed him - Kate was totally a Ring agent. It could happen).

And although it makes me sad that there is such a small amount of Chuck/Bryce fic out there especially when I see here there's so many fans of it, I can't deny that it's all really, really spectacular. I think I've only read two fics that weren't very good and even they were still better than a lot of others out there.

So mostly the point of this massive message (sorry about that - you're probably not all that interested in reading my ponderings :-P) was to say thank you. Thank you for sharing the links, and for verbalising for me so perfectly why I love these two guys together when I couldn't find the words myself. It's really great to be able to share my thoughts on this (again, even though you're probably not that interested).

AND NOW I NEED THIS. BADLY.

Lol. I may or may not have some ideas rolling around in my brain. If it does happen, it will more than likely just be a series of drabble-y oneshot type things, since I fail at writing actual story. Want me to let you know if something does take form?

The context is that the actors are a pair of gigantic goofballs who are extremely okay with being in each other's personal space. Let me just direct your attention here, here and here for more adorableness.
