This is pretty cool! I haven't seen the movie, but wanted to when it came out in theaters.. I saw the potential in the trailer but at the same time sort of thought "well, yeah, that's what the actors are going for, one giant gay joke." So I like how you broke down their interaction and the subtext of it, because that's what really won me over.

Now I'm going to check out the fic and art recs! :D

Oh man, this makes me all nostalgic for my BoG days! Great essay, you really captured how they bent the rules of sexuality (honestly, Chazz showed more interest in Jimmy than he did any of the women in that movie, and he was SO insistent on labeling him a woman because it made it okay for him to have lusty feelings for Jimmy). I saw the film the day it came out and immediately found the fandom on LJ. They pretty much had fic and art up within hours of the premiere of the movie. I was obsessed with Chazz/Jimmy for at least 6 months. It's so sad that the fandom died, it's definitely one of the greatest fandoms I ever got to experience.

Aww! It makes me nostalgic for..days I wasn't even there xD; I think I remember seeing you around there! I really wished I had seen it in theaters *sigh* I started contributing as soon as I saw the film and jumped in, but it'd even already been on DVD a couple months so interest was fading. I've not had a lot of fandom experiences, but Blades made me want to because it seemed (seems? Lol I still talk to fans) like an awesome place.

I know, Chazz is so freakin gay for Jimmy xD Even though Jimmy's supposed to be the "obvious" one!

Yes! I was surprised when I liked this movie, even more surprised when I found a (tiny) fandom for it. Happily surprised, though. You've done a great job in showing the growth of their relationship, and pointing out some perfect scenes. Also, I never noticed the pride symbol between the two couples. Thanks for that. I think that I'm going to try and get back into this fandom, just because of you. Thank you.^^

Yea, this movie was surprisingly awesome huh? :DD I'm so glad there was a fandom so I at least had SOME outlet lol.

Talking about their relationship and fixating on every little thing has been like..a daily habit for me so I'm glad people like the essay I managed to say. I didn't notice the pride symbol at first either though, I was too fixated on Chazz and Jimmy.

I'm really flattered you're gonna try the fandom again because of me! That is awesome, it needs to come back.
