One of our cats grabbed a baby bunny and brought it in to us and we quickly freed it. Freed it a little too well as it got away from my brother and ran into a small hole in the drywall. It wouldn't come out, naturally, as it could smell the cats (as well as the curious dog) and we began to fear that it would die behind the wall. My brother camped himself outside the hole with a flashlight for a couple hours before we went to sleep and hoped for the best.
it hadn't moved by the morning and my brother wanted to destroy the drywall to get it out. I told him that was not a solution and that what we needed was to make a snare. So with a pole we had from somewhere or other and a plastic twine noose at the end, we set about trying to grasp it. A couple times he got it up to the edge of the hole but couldn't get it through. Finally, after an hour of trying, he got it to the edge and my little sister put her hand in and grabbed it. They drove to the park nearby and let it free. Our cats did catch another bunny later, but it was a different one, at least.
I'm rather glad I was never allowed to have a rabbit as a pet. Sometimes still want a snake, though (my aunt had a giant snake though I'd just want a colorful small snake). Sesame Street's Slimey is to blame for me wanting a little orange snake, I tell you. =)
