My Poor Car
My car died yesterday. I guess it was inevitable. It has over 178,000 miles on it and this is the first time that it's given me any trouble at all. Pretty good for a Ford Escort. I don't know how I'm going to get it fixed or how I'm going to get to work. I can't even pay for the newspaper subscription (which was canceled this week). I was already short of funds because the office was closed 2 and 1/2 days for the Thanksgiving holiday. Then I missed 2 1/2 hours because of the ice storm last week. Now I've missed today and the office is closed again Friday. I really hate this not having any money thing. There's no safety net at all.
