Ramadan Is Over

What a month! This Ramadan was really hard, I couldn't stand fasting..it is the hardest ramadan so far..Besides, I should say that I really didn't enjoy it as I should have, I don't know but I think something was missing..I remember the first week of Ramadan we had Dr. Alami and his family who came over, spent some couple days with us, that was a lot of fun...I really enjoyed their visit..but still something was missing, I think because I didn't become more religious as I was suppose to, not praying as much as I should have, not attending TARAWIH at the mosque...so I guess this is what I missed..I missed that great feeling of being so close to GOd. Anyway, move on, yesterday was EID oh God it was so great..I enjoyed it so much. They had it in Turkey park. There millions and millions of people..Moroccans, arabs, and so many converted muslims. First, they had Hadith in ARabic, then English. Oh my god, what touched me the most is the American Imam (he converted to Islam after Sep 11). I felt real a bad feeling when I heard him talking about Islam and Ramadan and how we should let other people know about Islam. I felt that I was really ignorant..I grew up in a country, which is supposed to be islamic, but I didn't really get advantage of that. I missed the opportunity to learn about my religion and my culture. I was very busy by the French culture..following the high prestige...speaking french rather than speaking Moroccan and looking really down at those people who have really big accent when they speak french, or those who wear the scarfs. I always thought that they were ignorants but alas I am the ignorant....To be continued, I am busy talking to jihane
