On good days and cases of Tanqueray Gin

So today I went to the career fair. A few people commented on my shnazzy new suit (Gagliano was riding in the elevator down to the SDL with other people when he put a hand on my shoulder, turned me around and said "I did NOT recognize this guy with a suit on!").

The fair itself wasn't as pathetic as it has been in the past. It helped that I had done my homework (with thanks due in part to selainwhoami for the heads-up on Plexus). I went to the Plexus booth and shook the guy's hand who is on the IAC and said I wanted to work for his company. He had said at the IAC panel that he expected people who wanted to work for a company to have done homework on the company so his next question wasn't a suprise. "What do you know about us?" he asked. "I know you work mainly in embedded systems. I know that Plexus puts people into small teams within the company and assigns them projects based on their specialty. I know that you mostly do contract work for larger companies (like paper factories) though you do do medical embedded systems as well. I know you're based in Menasha right off of the highway (as I've passed by the place en route home several times)." I don't think he was expecting me to know that much. That conversation ended with "We will be contacting you in the first week of November to interview on campus." It wasn't "We SHOULD" it was "We WILL." Pretty much everyone I showed my Resume to said this (one or two said "should" and not "will") and everyone seemed pretty impressed with my Resume.

Speaking of my Resume, I have to thank shippo for how awesome it turned out. Out of the blue, Jason offered his help to me last night in preparing it. I promised Jason that if I get a job offer with it, I'm buying him a case of Tanqueray. I think the odds of me doing that are probably 50%. Keep your fingers crosses, Jason.

So, I'm feeling good. I'm feeling fine. I've got sunshine.. in a bag. ..and all that.
