Ok, so a lot is going on and I've fallen off the posting bandwagon.

1. My thesis is DONE!! Fucking yay, that thing took forever! I'm really glad that I did it and I learned a lot. The experience was slightly painful at times, but I feel that it was well worth it.

2. Mike and I decided to finally set a date for our wedding. June 20th, 2009. I decided that while eloping was super appealing, I wanted my mom and dad there and have my dad walk me down the aisle. We explored still eloping and going to the courthouse, and it just wasn't going to work. I wanted to do a picnic wedding, but my mom can't really be outside in the summer. So, we ended up renting a hall and now we have 40 people invited. We are keeping the budget around $3,000 dollars, which I think might work. It will probably be more like $3500. Still pretty decent for a wedding. The downside is that I can't afford to have family and my friends. I made a tough decision, and I know that it's hurt some peoples feelings. We just couldn't afford both and while I love my family, this is my celebration and I wanted parents and friends. If I could double my budget, I could invite them all. I didn't want to wait any longer. My plan is to have a big dinner with my dad's side after the wedding. And then Mike and I will need to go down to Virginia to visit family there. Hmmm.. maybe that could be our honeymoon.... Eventually, we want to go to Ireland as our real honeymoon. Mmm, Guinness.

3. Mike and I have also decided to look for a house. With interest rates being at their lowest since the 1950s, it would be silly to get keep renting, if we could have our own home. We went to the bank and were given a verbal pre-qualification, so we know we could get the loan we we need, just gotta find the right house. We are just getting started and have seen 2 houses. The first looked great online, but was badly laid out when we saw it.  The second house needed some cosmetic things, but as a short sale, we would be getting more house for our money. We may get an inspector to look at it and see what the serious problems might be. If it doesn't look too bad, we may seriously consider it. We have a realtor that will be setting us up with a couple tours this week hopefully. Well see how it goes.

I've got a lot on my plate right now. Work is boring as ever, they still haven't hired me as an associate yet. I'm doubtful it will be anytime soon. I'm looking at a couple positions elsewhere.  I'm also needing to get out more. With school ending, many of my friends have moved. I've been weird about Mike's friends. We hang out great, but I guess I've never pursued the friendship on my own, and niether have they. It's awkward, but it shouldn't be. I need to get out more, Mike goes out with friends all the time and I usually stay home. It makes me feel jealous and possessive, which is silly because nothing is stopping me from going out. I'm going to need to work on that.

friends, work, wedding, buying a house
