I would just like to say that I finished Catch 22 at 1:08 Monday morning. I had been reading for about three hours strait at the end. I wanted to post my thoughts as soon as I finished it, but I really needed to sleep. The last quarter of that book has to be some of the best writing ever.
Apparently I lost those precious hours of sleep for nothing, though. It looks like the reports on the books probably won't even be due until next week.

I loved when Yossarian was walking through the streets of Rome and seeing all of those horrible things. Then Aarfy killed that girl. When the cops came in and arrested Yossarian instead of Aarfy for missing his papers, my eyes literally filled with tears. It just wasn't right.
I can't say for sure if I would have had the same reaction in a not sleep-deprived state, but I feel that it was a good way to respond.
Overall it was just a really great book.
