So today was the last day that Copics were on sale in Hobby Lobby. A sad day indeed. I went in there and got four more before I end up having to pay almost six dollars each.
I'm learning how to use these markers pretty fast. I tried to go for more smooth realistic shading in this one. I also learned why everybody says to start with skin tones first and then move on to the darker stuff. That streak going from his eyebrow straight up his forehead is why. Oops.
I definitely need to use better paper on my next drawing. This is just super cheap sketching paper and the markers bleed really badly on it. It really messed up his eyes and some of the outlines. I'm also thinking of buying a thinner liner. The black lines stick out almost too much against the smoother shading on his skin.
But whatever. Yay Kimberly.
Once I feel comfortable with these markers, I'll move up to pictures with more than one person in them at a time. Then things can get a bit more fun. :D
