She studies him as he talks; he's almost ugly, too sharp-boned and thin-lipped, and she thinks of Jamie back home and of his soft mouth and delicate hands. When Mads closes her door behind him, she's the one to push him against it, and his hands span almost the full width of her waist.
The thing about this is that they shouldn't work. Too many contrasts between the characters and there's a feeling like maybe you don't really WANT it to work, because Keira is too pretty and Mads isn't pretty enough, but in the end it's the contrasts that make it work. There's a perfect, delicately layered balance to this that's haunting.
