Kaylee Frye has always been well-liked, though she was never "popular."  Not nearly moneyed or suave as the pom-pom girls, she's spent most of her school days palling around with the tough guys, who all look after her like she was their little sister.  While most girls take Home Ec., Kaylee dreams of auto shop, and it isn't too uncommon to find her down there helping the guys with their cars after school.  She associates with those sort of "bad boys," but somehow the reputation never quite sticks to her.  Maybe it's just that cheery way she has about her, but everyone has to admit she was sort of endearing, even if they'd never dare associate with her.

Her more tight-laced mother was never too thrilled with her daughter's choice of company, but she accepted it as youthful folly.  But soon it'll be time for Kaylee to settle down, and she's realized that's the last thing on her daughter's mind. Oh, sure, she has romantic daydreams just like any other girl, but she has a yen to make her own way.  She's picked up a pretty impressive set of skills with cars from all those days fixing her boyfriends' hot rods, and though she had plenty of reason not to, she has expressed a desire to get work as a mechanic.  Both her parents shot that down immediately.

The anxiety her parents feel about her tomboyish ways is beginning to weigh on her some, but she's content.  She'll go on dates here and there, have a good time (that innocent attitude keeps anyone from getting the wrong idea, but make no mistake, she enjoys herself just fine) - but she's not interested in shacking up with the nearest ambitious ex-football player just for the sake of being married.
