At first, Jason thought about messing with her a bit, but instead, he just decided to steal her away. Of course, when Mia woke up, she gave him hell.
"Let me go, you asshole!" she shouted, struggling in her bonds.
"You really think the sidekick thing is a good idea?" Jason asked casually. "You really think you'll actually fit in?"
Mia scowled at him. "I fit in just fine."
Jason rolled his eyes. "Sure, you do, for now. How long do you think that'll last, honey? With the things you've had to do survive?" he questioned, circling her. "Queen's a rich man, and so's Batman. Think the other heroes are much different? They don't know what struggle is."
"Shut up," she muttered as she turned away from him.
Jason smirked. "You're just saying that because I'm right," he sing-songed. "They might want to keep the streets safe, but they don't know how they work, not like you and I do."
Mia slowly looked up at him, cautiously. "...you came from the streets too," she stated blankly.
"We're kindred," Jason told her, and she snorted. "Okay, maybe that's laying it on a little thick, but we've had to deal with the same shit, babe. I know how you feel."
Mia glared. "Don't try to pretend you know everything I feel."
Jason tilts his head. "I do, for the most part," he replied. "I can fix the part I don't know about myself."
"...what do you mean?" she asked suspiciously.
Jason grinned. "I can get rid of your HIV."
Mia stared at him with wide eyes. "What the hell are you talking about? Don't even lie like that!" she shouted angrily.
"I'm not lying," he stated calmly. "The heroes could tell you this would work too."
Mia quieted for a moment. "What is this miracle cure?"
"A Lazarus Pit," Jason replied. "And any side effects are only temporary."
"What side effects?"
Jason shrugged. "Temporary insanity," he told her. "I've taken a dip myself, and I'm perfectly sane."
Mia snorted. "That's not making this very believable."
"That's what I thought. I can give you a list of heroes that have taken a dip, and I know Canary's on that list," he said as he began to untie her. "Why don't you go back and ask her? She's sane, isn't she?"
Mia rubbed her wrists. "You're just letting me go?"
Jason nodded. "You'll come back. Once you ask Canary about it, you'll come back."
"Don't count on it."
