Pokemon Blue Version!
<3 Oh man, loved this game, so hard. I played through it at least twice, since I played through and got Mewtwo, but I let my older cousin play with a new game, so showing him how to save saved over the game I had. ;-; I held a grudge against him, man. I brought it up every year forever. XD
ALSO! This game is how I met my best friend Heather! We were on some camp van together for something, and she saw me and my Game Boy. We clicked immediately over nerdiness. <3
That's definitely the first game I ever owned, but first game I have played may have been like Sonic on Sega at my cousins' house. <3
