DCU Remix Challenge: Sign Ups Post
Okay, comments will be screened to keep things a surprise of who's involved. Though, if you tell each other you're in it, it's all good. Just trying to give us a little surprise. XD
This idea was taken from Remix Redux 2010. My rules are a little less strict than theirs, but they're as follows.
1. Keep the same characters and plot, though this can be messed with a little. If you keep the plot the same and want to put different characters in place, that's okay. Keep a few of the characters from the original fic if you do this.
2. Play with whichever fic you choose. If something inspires you, do it.
3. Minimum word count is 1000. If the fic you picked is short and you can't expand it more, at least reach the word count of the original fic.
4. If a fic is a pairing fic, you can make it gen, but if it's gen, you can only make it pairing if you're sure it's something your remixee isn't totally against (since this should stay pretty much between friends, most of you should know; if not, just ask me or check their other fics and tags for answers). This also means if it's a pairing fic, don't change the pairing unless you're sure the person you're remixing for likes that pairing (check their tags, etc.)
5. You should have at least 5 DC fics, so your remixer has choices to choose from.
6. Do not remix any fics that are a remix from another challenge or any of the author's safe fics.
This what'll happen when you sign up:
1. Sign up by commenting on this post from 5/23 to 5/30.
2. Use this format:
LJ User Name:
Link to your DCU fics:
Which comics you stick to more:
Top five characters you write the most:
What you write most (gen, het, slash, or femslash):
WIPs or Safe fics you don't want remixed:
3. Receive your author assignment on 6/1
4. Pick one of their fics to remix
5. Have it finished by 8/1 and tell me you're done by then (be truthful, I don't bite). (If everyone is finished, we skip the next step.)
6. If I don't get everyone's responses by 8/1, I will look into pitch hitters.
7. Post all fics 8/8 (and make sure I'm linked to them).
