Fandom: DCU
Character(s): Jason, Dick, Babs, Tim
Pairing(s): Dick/Jason

Notes: Written for neev for her birthday, which was months ago. >>;; Ooops~ Her request: "Dick + Jason + Tim + Babs + a camping trip, possibly including lost supplies and less sleeping bags than there are people." This is based off the RP neev used to RP Dick (and Babs) to my Jason. The logs are over at havens-castoff if you want some background on this DCAU!Jason. Babs has planned a camping trip for Dick, Jason, and Tim. Dick's excited, but Jason, not so much. (Also works for my dcu_freeforall Jason Todd claim: #31 vacation.)

Jason was fidgeting. He was fidgeting so much at this point that he thought he probably picked up another bad habit from Dick. Jason could stay still before he met Dick, really. Dick gave him a smirk, and Jason scowled.

“Aww, c'mon, Jay. It's just a camping trip,” Dick teased as he ruffled Jason's hair.

Jason ducked his head and moved away from Dick. “With your ex and that new Robin,” he stated unhappily.

Dick rolled his eyes as he pulled Jason into a tight hug. “It'll be fun, I promise. I have a surprise for you, even!”

Jason was skeptical as he looked up at Dick. “Your surprises suck unless they involve you and me naked, and I'm pretty sure that's not the surprise,” he muttered before leaning to rest his head on Dick's chest.

Dick chuckled. “You're right, no nudity with Babs and the kid around, but I promise you'll like it,” he said before placing a chaste kiss on the top of Jason's head before relinquishing his hold on Jason. “So go get in the car with your bag, and I'll be right there.”

Jason complied, grabbing his bag as he headed down to the garage where the car was waiting for the drive to Gotham. He tossed his bag into the back seat before climbing into the front seat, buckling up. He had a sinking feeling that this camping trip was going to be awkward as hell, and if there was one thing Jason had learned during his life on the streets, it was to trust his instincts.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jason was not pouting when they stopped in front of Barbara's apartment, and he was especially not pouting when Dick greeted Babs with a very friendly hug. “They're just friends now, you know,” a voice said beside him, and Jason, for his credit, didn't jump.

He turned to see the kid standing next to him. He was pretty damn small for someone who was only two years younger than Jason. “Yeah, I know,” he grumbled as he watched Dick and Babs go inside to get the rest of the bags.

The kid tilted his head. “I think you're jealous,” he stated, watching the door and waiting for Dick and Babs to come out.

Jason turned to the kid and glared. “Shut up, Tim,” he growled.

Tim looked up at Jason with a grin. “That just means I'm right,” he said back blithely.

Yeah, Jason was sure this trip was going to be hell.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Once they got to the camping ground, Jason had wanted to wring Tim's scrawny neck. The kid was trying to play nice, but Jason really wasn't in the mood. Dick gave him a reassuring smile, but it didn't really reassure him until it was time for bed, and Babs noticed something.

“Huh, that's strange,” she stated as she pulled out the sleeping bags. “There were four sleeping bags earlier...”

At that moment, Dick's smile from earlier made sense, and Jason had to hold back a crazy grin as he walked over to Dick and hugged his arm possessively. “That's okay. Dick and I can share a bag,” he said happily as Dick snorted then kissed the top of Jason's head.

Dick leaned down and whispering something to Jason, who just grinned more. Tim made a face. “Ew,” he said distastefully, not so much at the display of affection, but what he figured would happened if those two shared a sleeping bag. “I'm not sleeping next to you two.”

Dick grinned before reaching over and ruffling Tim's his hair. “Don't worry, kid. We'll be good, I promise.”

Jason turned towards Tim with a grin. “He promises to be good,” he whispered to Tim before heading to get the sleeping bad he'd be sharing with Dick.

Tim frowned Jason went for the sleeping bag, and Babs started talking to Dick, not hearing a word that Jason had said to Tim. Tim sighed as he grabbed his sleeping bag, planning to sleep as far away from those two as possible. As he did so, he noticed Jason still smirking as he hugged Dick. Tim's frown deepened. It was going to be a long night.
