When Roy tried to wake up Lian for school, she complained about her tummy. Roy frowned and felt her forehead to find it rather warm. He tucked her back into her bed. “Try to go back to sleep, sweetie,” he said soothingly as he smoothed her hair.

Lian nodded. “Okay, daddy...”

She fell back to sleep as went to make some soup for when she woke back up and made a call to the doctor to make an appointment for later. After the call to the doctor, he made a call to Lian's school to tell them she was sick and to ask if there were any stomach flus going around.

When he was done making phone calls, he checked on the soup before peeking back into Lian's room to see if she were still sleeping. She was sleeping soundly, and Roy breathed a sigh of relief. It was best if she slept off the fever than he'd worry about the tummy ache when she was awake again.

A few hours later, the soup was in a bowl in the microwave, and Lian had woken up, tummy still bothering her. Roy set her up in the living room, so she could watch some TV while she ate then brought the soup to her on a tray.

She made a face at the soup. “You have to eat, etai yazi, or you won't get better.”

“Okay...” she said with a pout as she ate her soup, very slowly.

Roy smiled a little bit as he made a mental note to call Dick, and tell him to cover patrol for him. His little girl would probably need him tonight.
