When Bruce asked Cass if she had found Tim, all she had said was 'safe' before heading back to her cave. Batman could have followed, but he did not, so she figured he that had been enough of an answer for him. Before pulling off her cowl, she notices something off in her cave.

She slips into a fighting stance that she never really slipped out of but relaxed when she noticed two puppets by the computer monitor, one of herself as Batgirl and one of Spoiler. Cass pulled off her cowl and walked over to examine them. They reminded her of the Batgirl plush that Oracle kept by her computers.

Cass titled her head, holding the Batgirl puppet in one hand and the Spoiler puppet in the other. Soon, the puppets jumped from her hands, landing on the ground, Batgirl gracefully while Spoiler tumbled a bit. The Batgirl puppet helped the Spoiler puppet up, and they ran towards the shadows. Cass followed, noticing they were running towards her bedroom.

Once at the door, the puppets launched themselves into the air with grappling hooks to open the door. There was someone in her room, Cass noticed. When the door opened, the cloaked person spun around. Not fast enough though, since Cass had gotten behind the person, holding his arms behind his behind his back, but then noticing the he was a she.

“Why are you here?” Cass asked, her grip tightening on the girl's wrists.

The Spoiler puppet flicked her grappling hook, turning on the lights. With the light illuminated, Cass could see the girl dressed in the Spoiler costume. Cass' face contorted in anger before pushing the girl against the wall, cutting off any answer the girl was going to give her.

“Spoiler is dead,” Cass growled, yanking off the mask. “Who are you?”

Blond locks tumbled out, and when the girl turned to look at Cass, Cass jumped away. Steph coughed a bit. “I'm me, Cass,” Steph said rubbing her neck. “I'm sorry you had to think I was dead, but it wasn't exactly my idea...”

Cass let the information sink in before surging forward, pulling Steph into a tight hug. Steph was shocked for a moment before smiling and hugging back. “Missed you too, Cass,” Steph whispered.

Cass pulled away. “How?” she questioned.

Steph sat down on the bed. “It's a long story. Short of it, Doc Leslie lied about my death and got me out of the country. I'm supposed to stay away,” she gestured to the puppets that had made themselves comfortable on the pillows on the bed, “but puppet us decided I needed to come back.”

“Why?

“Why did I come back?” Steph answered with the question, tilting her head. “I- You and Tim need me. The puppets said so.”

“They talk?” Cass asked, confusion plain on her features.

Steph chuckled. “Not exactly. They can talk to each other silently, but they need to type out what they want people to know,” she paused. “Have you learned to read yet?”

Cass shook her head with a frown. “Not much more than last time...”

Steph put comforting hand on Cass' shoulder. “Don't worry about it. I'll help you out. Though, I think puppet us have some other things to take care of in the city,” she said as she glanced at the puppets were now jumping out the window of Cass' bedroom.

Cass pulled her cowl back on and pointed after them. Steph gave her a questioning look before Batgirl punched her in the shoulder. “Tag,” Batrgirl said blithely before jumping out the window.

Steph grinned, pulling her mask back on before following in suit.
