Ok so I finally got the ep downloaded last night at 12:50am (the last 2% taking about an hour). Anyway, I finished watching at 1:37am and then proceeded to spend the next hour trying to sleep.
I haven’t read any other post on the ep yet as I don’t want it to cloud my initial response. (cut for spoilers)
I can’t believe that’s how they got rid of Lamb. I was genuinely devastated. I know that there are some very opposing views out there in fandom in ref to our local Sheriff but I really loved Lamb. (this is where I realise I need to get a paid account so I can add a Lamb icon to my userpics)
I don’t mean that literally, I mean that I loved the character. He was despicable and lazy and maybe there was more to him than met the eye. Above all MM played him beautifully. He was a man you loved to hate and I will really miss him.
I have been annoyed all season at the way he had been relegated into the background this season and finally I see why. Lets face it, this was a damn lazy way to move Keith into the post of sheriff and typical of the lazy writing we have had all year.
I knew the moment MM uttered the poignantly delivered lines about smelling bread he was a goner. When V told Keith to take the call from the County Commissioner I just could believe they where doing it.
I really want to talk about how cute Pagan was and how adorable Mac and Bronson were, even though I think the whole crash and bang line seemed out of character for Mac after everything. I want to talk about how I didn’t really hate V this ep. I want to talk about a lot of the good things that happened in this ep and the bad like the misuse or lack of use of Weevs and Wallace again etc. But I can’t, because to be honest I am in mourning for Lamb and I can’t bring myself to be enthusiastic about the ep. That includes the hotness of Logan/JD so, I think I will leave it their go and read the posts I have been avoiding and grieve for the loss of a character I loved.
Rest in peace Don Lamb you will be missed :(
