Since it's the first snow of the winter (for where me and Bek are anyway), we thought we'd have a ficcing meme. We didn't wanna do one that was already done, so we came up with the Blanket Fic Meme: DCU Edition

Pairing: Tim/Tam
Warnings: angst
She tells herself it's because she's cold. Because the pseudo cave slash underground lair doesn't seem to have any heaters, and because her blankets are thin and there aren't nearly enough of them. She tells herself she just wants to be warm.
She knows though, somewhere in the back of her mind, that warmth has nothing to do with it. She can deal with cold, she doesn't mind going out in the bitter Gotham cold in only jeans and a pullover. So it's not the cold, but she doesn't want to admit to the real reason, especially not to him.
So when he opens his eyes to stare at her, standing next to his bed, she simply murmurs, "I'm cold." and tries to look pitiful.
She apparently does a good enough job, because he scoots aside and pulls back the covers for her. She crawls in next to him, and he doesn't protest when she presses her back against his.
She curls in on herself, pulling the blankets close around her and squeezing her eyes closed, trying to shut out the dark shadows in what is serving as their bedroom. She's shaking, and she knows it, but she hopes he'll just pass it off as shivers.
The fact that he turns around, wraps an arm around her waist and pulls her back flat up against his chest tells her that he didn't. The hand at her head, petting her hair comfortingly, also contributes to her deduction that he has seen right through her.
They lay in silence for a few moments, his breathing even and controlled, her own starting to come faster and more ragged because she can't stop thinking. About the killers on guard at their door, about the sight of Tim bleeding out on the bed, about the rough grip of the men who had dragged her into this cold, dark cave. She sobs, quietly, just once but it's enough.
He uses his hold on her waist to turn her around, and pulls her close to him, tucking her head into the crook of his shoulder and smoothing down her hair. He runs his hand up and down her back, rubbing soothing circles against her skin and she can't help but clutch at his shirt, pressing her face against his chest.
He's talking to her, whispering words that mean nothing but the tone is comforting and she tunes everything out but his voice and his breathing and the way his heart is beating, slow and steady against her cheek. She's been in the place for two weeks now and she hasn't slept.
He presses a kiss to her temple, his lips lingering there, warm and soft against her skin.
It's the first time she feels safe, and she easily falls asleep in his arms.

Ooo, those are pretty! I kiiiiind of wound up making, uh, about 50 Tam icons last night/this morning, as I apparently have no idea when to quit. :P (They're basically shrinking/cropping jobs, but totally up for grabs if there's anything you like!) But that is so nice of you! I don't know if you can do anything with the icon I'm using now or not--I didn't have the patience to mess with it too much--but I have the scan here. I'd be happy to do something for you in return! :)

I'll see what I can do with it! It's a shame there isn't more of her in the comics, I'm hoping next issue there will be lots of opportunity for Tim/Tam icons... Which apparently there will be! I just checked the solicits for the issue and it looks as though it's focused on Tam. YAY
