Of recently passed events.

Well, hi there.

I didn't want this to be my comeback post but this has to be said, for the record.

I suppose you've all heard of the hostage crisis that occurred here in the Philippines and I also suppose that, even though you don't think about it, now you see Filipinos as bumbling idiots who can't even do the proper stuff in these kinds of events.

I don't want to make excuses for our country's weaknesses but I have to, at least, defend my nation as a Filipino.

...

You must know that we Filipinos are also mourning for the loss but I think most, especially those who are sitting on the "high" seats, are just grieving for the loss of profit that they may gain due to the tourists.

I hate the system, the government and the management but I still love the country.

You must also know that it pains me to see the relatives of the victims crying for their loved ones yet, of course, I can't do anything.

So I'm doing this.

I don't care if the government's name gets dirtied or whatever but please, don't ever think some of us as heartless.

These words may seem empty but I can't do anything better than this.

In all of the reports, in all of the web articles and medium of communication. We Filipinos are being labeled as idiots, imbeciles and all other kinds of insults one can think of.

Our country has been said to be dangerous.

This land and its people are being blacklisted in countries I don't want to mention anymore.

I've become very, very disappointed in the people but I still keep a small light of hope that we may become better than we are today.

I've always been proud of being a Filipino. Even when hundreds of scandals and controversies have sprouted everywhere in the country. But this is different.

It actually affected me. I tried to think in the perspective of the two sides but it's all the same.

...

You see how the action of one affects the whole.

Because of one man, a nation has been put into the pedestal and labeled as a bad example.

The shame is put on us and the finger of blame is pointed toward us.

Have you ever put yourself in our point of view though?

We try and try to build ourselves stronger from nothing but each and every time, something comes and destroys what we've built. We try to stand tall but others throw bags of burden on our shoulders and we are forced to stoop.

You are not the only ones who lost something important.

There are only so many times when one's faith in one's country can be tested. Now, I'm not sure how long my faith will hold.

...

To there and to here.

Can't we please try to at least make each other feel a little better?

...

A man hostaged 21 people in a bus, 8 died.

Two nations are left grieving but how many hearts, do you think, are sincere in their mourning?

...

I didn't want to make excuses but it seems that I've done so, sorry.
