A raised eyebrow, and a brief smile. "No, of course not. And neither do I, apparently."
His eyes opened slightly, a glimmer of ever-sharp consciousness. "Complicated," he agreed placidly, "but fool, nevertheless." He came almost fully awake at the little dart Hayate managed to add to the end of that, but did not waver. "At the very least, I know what to share, and what to keep." Nevertheless, he was aware enough now, half-startled out of his doze, to realize how he was letting things slip, get personal. Quietly, almost invisibly, he drew back a little from the discussion, trying to regain his objectivity.
He reached down and ran a hand across the grass, silent enjoyment of the way the spotty sunlight danced like so many bright beads across the blades stirring in his features like an evanescent flame. A single nod answered Hayate's admission, Kei no longer so much given to initiating new discussion now that he had ascertained his work here was done.

Hayate glared at Kei again and dropped his head back down to the grass. For a while there, it almost felt like they were having a moment. Musing over Kei and the other Knights, Hayate relaxed into the ground and idly ran his fingers across his stomach. Judging by the quiet from the his partner, their little discussion was completed or Kei was satisfied Hayate wasn't going to go running into the forest at the first sight of Sasame or Takako.
He was tempted to do just that anyway but he wouldn't.
"To each their own," he murmured softly before crossing his legs. Listening to the sound of the water running across the rocks, he felt another suspicious smile tugging at his lips. Perhaps this day wouldn't turn out to be so bad after all.
