Tips for conducting the most effective career and college search
Everyone has strengths and weaknesses. The key to finding the best college and career for all students is using their natural strengths and becoming aware of their natural blindspots.

Your strengths may include:

1. Impressing people as someone with strong values and convictions
2. Communicating well one-on-one
3. Expressing yourself well in writing
4. Being an attentive listener
5. Demonstrating an interest in, and broad grasp, of big issues

Your blindspots may include:

1. Being too idealistic and setting unrealistic goals
2. Not being particularly well organized
3. Becoming defensive if you perceive you are being challenged
4. Not following through on important details and deadlines
5. Being less than 100% accurate with facts

For a career to be satisfying for you, it should:

* Be in harmony with your own personal values; involve work you believe in
* Give plenty of time to develop your ideas and maintain control over your projects
* Allow you plenty of autonomy and private, quiet space to work
* Be done with other creative and caring people whose values you respect
* Allow you to work in a fairly unstructured environment with not too many rules
* Appreciate your unique contributions
* Allow you to help others grow and develop their potential
* Use your gift for understanding what makes others tick

Your Preferred Learning Style
While ALL individuals are unique, students of the same type often learn best in similar ways. The following summarizes what you need in order to maximize learning. Your learning environment should:

* Recognize you are driven by your personal feelings and deeply held beliefs
* Create a friendly, nurturing, tension free environment
* Allow you the opportunity to work alone or with small groups
* Give you plenty of time to think and reflect before responding

Yeah yeah yeah. WHAT EVER, ACCURATE TEST. THING. SHUT UP.

Oh. I think I have my final applicate-y..ing....schools done. Can I talk? No. No I can't. Anyway.

Georgetown U - The reachiest of all the reachy reaches
Bryn Mawr C - Still pretty reachy.
Hobart & William Smith C - My top choice right now. :)
Bard C - This one has a pirate club. Also, quite a rep for liberal arts. Or so I have read.
SVA, RISD & Pratt - My 3 art schools. :)

The thing that worries me about going away to school is that I might accidentally turn into Uncle Ray. :/ And I mean not in the going-to-college-for-14+-years way. The whole going away and like never coming home part/keeping in touch with email and the occasional phone call way.

Though that means I would be everyone's favorite relative.

People will fight over who loves me more.
Well, that part might be pretty okay.

Time to go to wooooorrrrkkkkkkkk. bleeeeechhh.

worries, family, personality thing, college, random
