"Several years ago Nintendo partnered with S&G Flowers - a major producer of seeds and flowers - to create a plant based on Pikmin, Shigeru Miyamoto's insanely clever GameCube title. By my reckoning, this is the first life form engineered as a tie-in to a video game. The Pikmin Flower, as it's called, took three years to create, since it does not produce seeds and thus can only be reproduced through rooted cuttings. The plant blooms into a mass of small, round white flowers resembling those that blossom atop a mature Pikmin's head in the game. The Pikmin flower is commercially available from S&G..." - Games Magazine.
Genetically engineered marketing! Think of the possibilities. Like.. uh.. I'm out of ideas. =(
