Kadaj rushed into the bedroom he shared with Yunalesca, concern written on his face as he sped to her side, kneeling down and taking her hand in his own.

"Beloved... everything's going to be okay..."

He smiled gently, a tear forming in one of his eyes.

"You never told me we were having twins..."

Yunalesca tried to breath as the searing pain shot right through her. The stigma flared, all of JENOVA's cells reacting to the children's movements within her. She squeezed his hand as another contraction happened.

"... I didn't want to alarm you."

"Alarm me?" He winced as she squeezed his fingers, but tried to stay strong for her. "Why would I be alarmed? It's the best news I've ever had!"

He glanced nervously at her abdomen, and swallowed.

"I... I don't think I'm any good at this childbirth thing... shall I get some help?"

Yunalesca screamed in pain, her answer evident that Kadaj should get some help. A part of her was so scared, "Stay. Please."

"Okay." He nodded, although his trembling fingers indicated that he, too was scared. "I... I brought that Materia, like you asked."

With his other hand, he placed two glowing green orbs beside her.

Yunalesca held his hand as she let out a large cry once more, "KADAJ."

"Beloved!" He gripped her hand tightly and whimpered, not sure what to do. He'd always presumed someone else would be here to sort this out. "What should I do?"

Yunalesca barely had to do anything, the children being very strong. Kadaj had moved to the front between her legs, ready to catch their children. After what seemed forever (a few hours), the children were born and Yunalesca lay there, weak and panting. Her arm reached up, weakly before letting it drop.

Kadaj, moved to near-exhaustion by a mixture of feelings ranging from panic to elation, gave a cry as he felt Sephiroth clawing at his mind; before he could help himself, Sephiroth was there, plucking the small, bloodied bundles of flesh from Yunalesa's body and handing them calmly to her, making sure that they cried out, thus proving their lives - and their value to him. Almost subconciously, he closed his eyes and willed the Jenova cells within her body to subdue themselves, allowing her to settle into an exhausted, restful state.

"Congratulations, Lady Yunalesca." His voice was a mixture of scorn, amusement and smugness. "I shall return for them, of course."

"... why?" She asked meekly as she took her small children into her arms, trying to soothe them- blood and all. Almost instinctively, she cradled their weak neck.

"... hold one," She begged, not wanting to hurt the other- and as a test to see if Sephiroth would actually hold his own offspring. Just that small glimmer of hope that he had some compassion in him- even if it was in vain.

"I have no need for such weak creatures... yet." All the same, he smiled - warmly? - at the newborn twins, and stretched his arms out in a grand gesture of self-importance. "Lest they forget their true father," he uttered, allowing his one black wing to emerge from his back as he stared at the children; then, he was gone in a flutter of black feathers, leaving a whimpering Kadaj kneeling beside the bed.

Yunalesca sighed and tried to sit up with the baby boy in her arms, checking on Kadaj.

"We have to go buy new sheets."

"It... it's okay..." he muttered, clutching at his aching head; as he glanced over at the bed, his eyes widened in amazement and he moved closer, unable to help himself clutch at one of the bundles and hold it to his chest. "He's gorgeous!"

Yunalesca smiled and motioned for Kadaj to lean closer to her to her. "You have been waiting a long time for me to kiss you no?"

"Yeah... I guess so." He grinned and moved closer, leaning in to her cheek.

She kissed him lightly as she stared at the two bundles, "One is Shiva . . . but what do we call the boy?"

"How about..." He grinned and stroked at the little boy as he thought about the things he'd seen Yunalesca doing - the magi she'd used. "...Ixion?"
