Blast from the past.

[ This was my application. Not the greatest entry ever, but after a year or so, I've gotten a slightly firmer grasp on Shino, but since going to the hospital would tie into my cooking incident, I've decided to put it here. ]

It was hot this morning. I had woken up nearly in sweat. That was odd since my room was usually cool to alleviate the bugs that crawled through my system. They seemed to be restless and I wonder what’s wrong. Somehow, I couldn’t sense their feelings. I do wonder what’s wrong.

But back to my morning. I woke up feeling tired even though I had slept a good ten hours last night. I had come home from a training session (they never seem to have much of a point anymore) and went to sleep. Now I’m going in circles. The warmth from my room was unfamiliar so I had decided to go outside.

Maybe my vision was having trouble penetrating those dark glasses of mine, but I found myself in an unfamiliar area. The smells that reached my nose were not that of my own home. They belonged somewhere else. Somewhere like the… hospital? My vision had miraculously recovered in about .392 seconds as I focused in the surrounds that was indeed a medical center. The white walls, the tile floor, it all seemed unfamiliar. How long had I been here? More importantly, why? There were no answers from where I stood, so I walked blankly across the room and approached the receptionists. Maybe she knew why I was here.

I’m not a talkative person, but as I reached the desk, I had the urge to blurt out a million question in one breath. Since I’m not capable of such things I cleared my throat -- both for attention and to actually clear my throat -- and asked the lady why I was here.

“What am I doing here?” Okay, it sounded extremely stupid, and the lady looked at me like I had grown an extra head. But then, her expression melded into another expression. It was indescribable… something like pity or sympathy. I never liked those two emotions. They always seem to be associated with things that you did wrong. I haven’t done anything wrong… at least anything out of the shinobi category.

The lady didn’t answer me and I walked numbly back to my room. I’m confused. No doubt about that. But the question was… who can help me?
