Hey guys! I'm back from vacation!
The following is an account of my beach getaway and some pictures, if you're interested.
(It's so good to be back!)
Day 1
I went on vacation with my friends Jimmie, JJ, and my brother Bill.
The first day consisted mostly of traveling. We got to the beach house at around five at night, and unpacked a little. We then decided to go downtown to some of the shops. We went to the candy store and got ice cream. That was about it for day one.
This is one of the two loft beds in the house. Me and Jimmie slept in this one, while Billy and JJ slept in bunk beds. It's so much fun to sleep up there, but it's really hot! I was sweating all night. It's also pretty buggy up there. But hey, you don't get to sleep in a loft bed too often!
This is the water by the house. The beach is literally the backyard, and when I say the backyard, I mean you walk 10 feet and there's the water. It was so nice to fall asleep to the sound of the water!
Day 2
The second day is where the fun began.
We did some swimming first. It was really fun because the water was warm and pretty clear. It was a really hot day so the swimming was a good thing!
Then we went downtown again. We looked in some shops, but not as many as I would've liked to because I didn't want to drag the boys in my clothing shops...
Then we had a bbq back at the house. And that was pretty much day two.
This is my best friend Jimmie. He got bored and took lots of pictures with my camera.
This is where most of the swimming took place. This is the body of water across the street from the house. There's a bridge there that connects the two bodies of water and the current is really strong underneath it, so we would float in tubes under the bridge. There are also little baby crabs in the water, if you look hard enough.
Day 3
Day three was when we drove to the next town over and got really amazing pizza at this one little joint. This was a beach community as well, so we drove past some pretty lighthouses and gazed at the view of the water.
And when I say the pizza was amazing, I mean AMAZING. Or maybe I just like pizza a little too much. My friends and I ate two whole pizzas by ourselves! We had a plain pie and a grandma pie. Mmmmmm.....
Then Jimmie and I went in a little row boat that we found in the shed of the house. Of course, he was the one who rowed. I was too lazy, so that's why he didn't even ask me to row *giggles*. But it was fun. I don't think it was that hard for Jimmie to row, so it was fun for him too.
We also had a bonfire that night. It was so fun! We made s'mores and Jimmie busted out the ukelele and played us some songs, because he's been taking lessons. He can play Back In Black by ACDC, and some Never Shout Never song. I tried to get him to learn a Super Junior song, but he rufused.
A blurry shot of our epic bonfire.
This was our pre-bonfire setup. We made a bench by nailing a plank of wood to two tree stumps. Talk about redneck fun!
Another shot of the water, featuring the seagull that would always hang out on our roof.
Jimmie playing his ukelele by the fire. No bonfire is complete without ukelele music.
I present you you, the Sam/Jimmie yacht. Yes, this is the tiny boat he rowed me around in.
My dog Bandit tagged along with us as well. I think his favorite part of the trip was being away from our cat.
I forgot to mention Best Friend Craft Day! Me and Jimmie gathered all sorts of shells and we created a decorative windchime. There it will stay in the beach house for eternity, along with the other ones people have made over the years.
Day 4
This was the last day of our trip.
We did some last minute swimming, and did some packing here and there.
We digged out a kite that JJ and Billy put together, and it flew really well. It was fun to watch!
After dinner, we drove back home and got back to our house around 11 at night. It was nice to sleep in our own beds again.
This is the jetty at the end of the beach. I would just sit on one of the rocks with my headphones in for hours and just look at the water (and that would be when Jimmie would yell-sing the part in Valerie by Amie Whinehouse when she says "I look across the water.")
Billy messing around with the kite.
JJ getting ready to throw the kite in the air.
The kite in action.
Blurry picture of me chilling on the float in the water.
Bonus pictures of the house
That's a loft view of the sleeping section of the house.
This is the outdoor shower. Yep, there is no indoor shower, so we would have to go outside to bathe. It was really cool, actually. JJ loved showering outside so much that he said he'd do it 5 times a day, even if it made him smell like a flower. It really is quite fun.
Welp, that's my trip. It was so much fun, and I missed talking to you all and writing! It's good to be back.
Vacations rock.
