Heechul stirred, letting his eyes flutter open slowly. He groaned when he saw Hankyung already out of bed and digging through their closet for something to wear, rubbing at his eyes. “Why are you up so early?” he asked, in a groggy, sleep ridden voice.
“It’s not early, Heechul,” he said, pulling a shirt over his head. “It’s one in the afternoon.”
“Too early,” he heard him grumble as he dropped his head back down on the pillow. Hankyung chuckled and made his way to the kitchen for breakfast.
Everyone was still asleep, and he wasn’t surprised. All of them were up until the sun came out at least, so they would be out for another couple hours. Walking through the living room he saw the aftermath of the night before, empty beer bottles and cans scattered everywhere, ashtrays full of cigarettes. Siwon, who apparently hadn’t dragged himself to bed like the others, was still laying on the couch, fast asleep and half his body hanging off the side. Hankyung smirked and walked over to him, pushing his whole body on the couch so he wouldn’t fall off, and reaching for a blanket to throw over him. Siwon woke for a moment and smiled lazily. “Hi, hyung.”
“Hi, Siwon,” he said, returning the smile and ruffling Siwon’s messy hair. “Go back to sleep.”
“Mm,” he hummed, pulling Hankyung down by his neck and giving him a kiss on his lips before going back to sleep. It would have been weird had it been any other member, but it was Siwon, and he was just like that. It wasn’t like when Ryeowook would kiss him on the cheek after a successful performance, and it wasn’t like when Heechul would kiss him simply to kiss him. Siwon was different, blurred somewhere beyond the lines of friendship but not up to the line of lover. He didn’t really mind, anyway.
He finally made his way to the kitchen and opened the fridge to find Kyuhyun’s sneakers. He laughed, remembering Yesung holding up the sneakers triumphantly cheering, “Hide them, hide them! This’ll be hilarious!” He got one of the bottles of water next to the shoes and shut the fridge, sitting down at the kitchen table, trying to see how much of the night before he could remember.
The parties they had were always full of alcohol-and sometimes drugs - and last night was no different. He remembered Heechul dancing up against him, Siwon getting too close to Sungmin and Kyuhyun getting jealous, and Kibum and Donghae leaving early to god knows where, but if they way they touched each other the whole night was any indication, they probably went off to have sex somewhere. Now that he thought of it, he did remember having sex with Heechul. It usually ended like that every party, the couples branching off, dragging each other to any empty bedroom with drunk, reckless abandon, to some member’s dismay (“Do NOT let Kangin and Eeteuk in my room EVER again, are we clear?” Shindong yelled). He strained to remember what Heechul said to him, but he could only remember the way Heechul’s mouth tasted like ash and beer.
But the thing he remembered most clearly from the night before, and the thing he always remembered after every party, was having an obnoxious amount of fun. Some of his best memories with the members are from the parties they had. They’ll probably have another in six more months, and it’s bound to be just as fun, if not more. He didn’t go to parties much when he was in high school, because it usually involved having to pretend he liked the people at the party, and driving all his intoxicated friends home. But parties with the members, his real friends and the man he loved, made him love parties.
It really does matter who you do these sorts of things with, he thought, as the members started waking up and Eeteuk started to make hangover soup, despite his blaring headache.
“Pass me a napkin and lower your voice, you son of a bitch,” Sungmin said to Kyuhyun, but with no real bite to it.
“You owe me a whole box of cigarettes, Mr. Chain Smoker,” Kibum said, poking Donghae in the face with a chopstick.
“Hey baby,” Heechul said, coming up behind him and wrapping his arms around him, giving him a kiss on the cheek.
Yeah, he loves these guys.
