So my weekend was very very busy XD. Friday I was still feeling alittle under the weather, but I went out with some of the JSPers to La Pausa and had some yummy food and some drinks. On Saturday I woke up to go to the Tokyo Jazz Festival in Shinjuku with Katie and Eric. We got to Shinjuku, found the venues where the festival was and had to buy tickets. Well, the tickets were like thirty bucks and there was NO way I was going to shell out that kinda cash, so I cheated the system and used Katie`s ticket XD. The nice thing about being non-asian is that people remember you so if you leave the room, they dont check your ticket twice XD So she would go in for about 45 seconds, leave her stuff, come out and hand me her ticket and go back in. I would follow about 30 secs. after and flash the ticket to the guy and go in ^^. It was awesome XD The music was really good too. We had decided that after the jazz festival we would go to a Ninja resturant, so we called and made reservations (lol for like 8:45pm XD) and once it rolled around, it was SO AWESOME because you first enter and the hostess tells you that a ninja will soon appear to lead you to the secret ninja village, so a ninja comes out of a secret door and leads you through a themed hallway that looks like a cave while doing awesome ninja stuff like jumping on the wall and using special ninja powers to make a bridge appear! it was so awesome! once we got into the "village" which really looked like a village, we went to our private room which was really cool! we had a ninja waitress who brought our menus which were scrolls! it was so cool! everything was really expensive, but it was fun! We had a dish that was a grapefruit with a sword through it! Once Katie pulled the sword out, all this dry ice came out of the grapefruit!! it was amazing!!! Then later they brought our dessert menu that was this tiny piece of paper. After we ordered, the ninja told us the dessert menu was secret, so she had to destroy it XD So she lit in on fire and it vanished!! It was cool! then another ninja came and did ninja magic tricks which was really cool! he like swallowed fire and made lemons come out of an empty cup! it was frikkin sweet! and the food...oh the food was amazing! we had all sorts of food, plus dessert and champaine and sherbert!! it was so good!! it was worth every penny!!
So on Sunday, my host mom and I went to Yokohama. We met up with some of her friends (from like high school!!) and had lunch in Landmark tower, which is a huge building!!! It was random though because I learned all sorts of things about my host mom, like her marriage was arranged, and that my host dad has cheated on her a few times :O but apparently here, cheating is common!! can you believe that?!! They just endure it!! no divorce! its insane!!
After lunch, me and my host mom went to Yokohama`s famous Chinatown. It was funny because it was really crowded with lots of people and besides the food and some of the archecture, didnt look all that different from tokyo XD but we had yummy meat buns and bubble tea :) did shopping too. so we left and walked to the park, where a HUGE liner ship was docked. it was on of those fancy 1930`s type of luxury ship that had guests like Charlie Chaplin! It was really neat to see that kind of ship, as far as I can remember, it was the first time to visit that kind of ship. It made me really want to go on a cruise!! Then it was really funny, because I went to the front of the ship, climbed on the railing and threw my hands out like the chick in Titanic!! It was SOOO funny because my host mom was FREAKING out! but it was good times XD
We ate dinner in Shibuya, but it was really fun!
Anywhoo...really busy this week. Had a presentation today in Manga class, have to rehearse for Happiyokai on Saturday, going to Tokyo on thursday for class, a favor for a friend and to have a yummy thanksgiving dinner :)
