faNfic: Last 24 Hours [chaptered]
Chapter Summary: A dedicated mystery lover, Raniel wants revenge, Justine bribes CJ? Now Ryan has to be ready.

It was amazing. Ever since CJ got caught in an accident a few days ago, there are a lot of great changes in his attitude. He still kept ‘mute’ but he had been really cheerful these days. Joshua sighed in relief. CJ’s eyes that once flashed hatred is now sparkling with happiness. He snapped into his little trance when he heard a body hitting the floor rather hard. He turned his head and saw that Justine was on top of the older boy tickling him like there’s no tomorrow. It was like music to his ears. He never heard CJ laugh like that before. He was sure his smile reached his ears.
“Justine, get off CJ. He’s still under recovery from that accident.” He pulled the younger boy off CJ who was gasping for air, his tears almost ready to trickle down his now pink-tinted cheeks from too much laughing.
“Are you okay CJ?” a nod was given as a response and the older boy took Joshua’s hand to help himself stand up..
“Ryan…Please? Tell me.” Angeli pleaded flashing him puppy eyes that she hoped to work.
“Angeli-chan. A no is a no. So NO!” Ryan turned away and closed the HQ’s bedroom door locking him and Louie inside to study.
The mystery-addict plopped herself into the sofa and sulked. “What’s the matter?” someone whispered placing his arms around her neck.
“Ryan won’t tell me more about the Cursed Week.” She complained while Yamada seated himself beside his girlfriend.
“Don’t get so worked up. He’ll spill it to us in no time.” The seventeen year old teen assured combing her hair using his fingers.
“Does it still hurt?” they heard the eldest among JUMP inquiring the lifeless Takaki lying on the sofa across them.
Carlo settled himself on the same sofa and placed Alex’s head on his lap applying cold compress on the younger one’s head.
“Itte!” he winced feeling the coldness placed on his temples. “Careful Carlo~~~.” The younger requested sweetly.
The older smiled and teased him. “Then stop your bad habit of staring someone from afar so you won’t get hurt with the flying soccer ball.”
“Oi!” he shot up. “I’m not looking at HARA!” he blurted panicking and blushing.
“I didn’t even say it was her you’re looking at. Defensive~~~” Yabu sing songed poking Takaki’s crimson-tinted cheeks.
“Konnichi wa!” greeted by the famous Kristine Inoo in her wet soccer uniform who was carried by her best friend Harvey Yaotome.
“Are you okay Senpai Kristine?” a worried Justine asked while Harvey placed her down. She nodded at the youngest boy’s question.
“Oww…Harvey… don’t be maaad. I won’t do it again.” She tried pinching her bestfriend’s nose.
“Tsk.” He crossed his arms looking at her. “Do it when I’m not looking. You gave me a good scare. I thought you really fainted.” Harvey reprimanded.
“How about this?” the lovely soccer player took one step and gave her bestfriend a quick peck on his cheeks. “Should that atone for worrying you or you want me to do something else? Anything~! Don’t be maaaaaaaad…. O-NE-GAI?”
The young prankster’s face turned beet red upon receiving the peck. “I-ie… y-you’re forgiven.” He stuttered.
“Yay~!” she cheered and embraced him. “That’s why I love you~ you’re really kind~!”
They were interrupted by Raniel who cleared his throat to catch the attention of the ‘couple-like’ persons in front of him. “You’re blocking the doorway.”
“Ooops…” the lovely lady giggled awkwardly removing her arms around Harvey and pulled the latter to one of the couches.
“I heard Angie-chan is having problems with Ryan?” Raniel started removing some dust on the stereo situated on their far right.
Angeli nodded. “He won’t tell me more about the cursed week.” She pouted and Yamada who found it cute pinched her cheeks. She grinned with her cheeks beginning to burn.
“Want him spill out the truth?” Raniel offered. He wants to get back at Ryan’s nagging to him for the past days and for bothering his pleasant nap two days ago.
“Hai~! Onegaishimasu!”
Raniel played a CD and tuned it into a bit louder volume. He gathered the rest of them in their mini-living room and whispered. “Here’s the plan.”
“Great plan” Yamada praised.
“I can handle Lou…” The youngest said. “But how are we going to convince Ryan?”
Raniel smirked and looked at CJ who had been silently listening and occasionally nodding since they started the ‘meeting’.
The English boy’s eyes widened, shocked with the older one’s statement. He pointed his index finger to himself as if confirming if it was really him who was being referred to.
“Oh CJ please? We know how Ryan-kun adores you that he won’t even suspect you.” Angeli pleaded.
CJ used his arms to form an X mark indicating he doesn’t like the idea.
“Oh yeah?” Justine tried - his voice sounding as if he has something to offer in exchange of the request. “Even if I give you 40 stolen pictures of Ryan?” the gentleman fished a picture from his wallet and used it to fan himself. CJ’s cat-like eyes followed the movement of the picture held by the youngest as if he was being hypnotized, snatching it the next second looking at it intently. The English boy’s cheeks turned pink as his silky black bangs fell into his eyes. Justine grinned evilly predicting a positive result. CJ nodded, totally falling into Justine’s bribe.
The rest of them had their jaws dropping on the cold cement, astounded with what they just saw. Justine was the first to speak. “There Senpai Ran~ all we have to do is to execute the plan.”
“Ah! Ah yes! Tomorrow after class.” He exclaimed getting back to reality.
“Oi Justine!” Yamada called in almost a whisper and ducked behind Angeli who is sitting in between them “Why do you have 40 stolen pictures of Ryan?”
“Well…” he thought looking at the ceiling. “I kind of sensed that we will be needing it to manipulate CJ. One time I caught him secretly taking snap shots of Ryan when they’re not together so I came to this kind of conclusion.” He reasoned but didn’t tell the part that he used to be Ryan’s fan boy when he was younger and collecting pictures of him is his hobby.
“Brilliant~! Congratulations.” Yamada beamed ruffling the younger one’s hair.
The bedroom door opened. “Whatever plans you have won’t work on me.” Ryan declared as he and Louie stepped out of the room with the tallest guy shooting death glares at each of them. His eyes returned to its normal-looking form when it landed on the gentle English-speaking Japanese boy.
“Let’s go home CJ.” The lanky guy called darting towards the door. CJ immediately kept the picture and gathered his things tripping on the scattered bags on the floor but was able to keep balance. He waved goodbye before closing the door.

CJ took a deep breath. It’s almost time to execute the plan. He felt like backing out for he thought that he might be betraying Ryan for helping Raniel and the others. The clock chimed endlessly in the vast vicinity of their school indicating that classes are over. Grabbing his bag, he rushed out the room to meet his best friend just like what Raniel instructed yesterday afternoon. When he arrived at Ryan’s classroom, a lady dashing from the inside bumped into him. She was oddly covering her ears looking really stressed out not even bothering to mumble a small apology for bumping into him.
He got curious but then shrugged it off. He peered into the room seeing the young drummer packing his things. A smile tugged across the younger one’s lips seeing the familiar figure outside their room.
“CJ!” he waved with the latter smiling at him.
The English boy made his way to the now overly excited Ryan. “Ah! How’s your day? This day has been really quiet and boring.” The taller guy ranted slinging his bag on his shoulders. CJ patted the other’s head, smiling sweetly. He began to drag Ryan to the HQ. It has been 4 minutes and CJ knows how impatient Raniel could get at times.
“Gomen nasai.” He apologized in his mind feeling really guilty but some part of him looked forward to his prize promised by the genius Justine Morimoto.
