AIM is desolate, yet informative...

I have come to the conclusion, perhaps too late, that no one uses AIM for chatting.
It is simply a means of letting people know what you're doing, when you're doing it, and why - and to leave messages that are never replied to.

Frankly, I don't have to know everytime someone goes to piss or shit, or when they're eating or cleaning... sure, I'm hypocritical, but still. Instant messaging is dying - AIM seems to be useful only for "status displaying" anymore. My buddies rarely carry out actual conversations.. Even as I type this, every buddy on my list has an away message.

Along with this, has risen a new compulsion. Info-checking! Only thing people use their buddy list is to see what peoples away messages are without actual IM'ing them or leaving a message of any kind. "Get Buddy Info..." is nearly a new form of stalking.
